Hi there! You do not have to go through AT&T for this unit. Any GSM provider (Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, etc.) will work with the unit. You will need a SIM card and a data plan for the unit to work. Thank you!

Does this camera have some kind of security gps on it so if it gets stolen it could possible be tracked?

Hi Chaz! This camera does not come with a GPS safety feature that allows it to be tracked. It does, however, require the use of a SIM card so if the unfortunate should happen you may be able to track throught the SIM card. Thank you!

Hello Missy! The camera does not come with a SIM card and the SIM card itself must be from a GSM provider such as AT&T™ or T-Mobile™, but your Code Black will send to any phone even if you have Verizon or Sprint. Thank you!
